The first book is our own, and we wrote in a way that we thought addressed financial knowledge and literacy (the premise of savingandinvesting.com) in the best way possible.

It is the one that we could not find, and that's why we wrote it - a fundamental and well- founded, easy to understand book on the subject that explains how things work - the book that we could not find – without opinions, and with the ‘how things work’ that we think forms the best basis for any understanding of future events.

1. Saving and Investing, Michael Fischer

Other books focus either more on specific areas of the subject, or reflect a particular investor’s experiences and successes - some truly great books as well – and must-haves for the die-hard saving and investing afficionado. In some cases the experiences shared by professional investors may be difficult to replicate and particular to a point in time, but clearly the financial services industry given its breadth and opportunity, has some of the world's brightest minds operating in it - incredibly interesting background on the subject.

2. Winning the Loser’s Game, Charles D. Ellis

3. A Random Walk Down Wall Street – Burton G. Malkiel

4. The Warren Buffett Way, Robert G. Hagstrom

5. John Bogle on Investing: The First 50 Years, John Bogle

6. The Millionaire Next Door – Thomas J. Stanley

7. Soros on Soros: Staying ahead of the Curve, George Soros

8. Intelligent Investor, Benjamin Graham

9. Beating the Street, Peter Lynch

10. Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes and How to Correct Them – Lessons from the New Science of Behavioral Economics – Gary Belsky, Thomas Gilovich
